About Pastor Abraham Harris III

Abraham Harris, III was born in Phoenix, Arizona, living in the valley of the sun for well over 25 years.  It was there that Abe developed his passion for the Gospel.

As the son of a Bishop and Evangelist, ministry surrounded Abe.  As a boy Abe would listen to all types of preaching.  After listening to these preachers, Abe would quickly run out to the back porch, set up boxes, cans and old hub caps (drums), find a good long stick and draw six lines on it as his guitar, and begin to sing, preach, play guitar and drums - a "one-child" church service.

On May 5, 1991 Pastor Abe Harris III was licensed as a Minister under the Leadership of Dr. Louis McNeal at the Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ.  Where Pastor Harris recalls it was a tremendous learning experience under a great man of God.  Through many trials and tribulations Pastor Harris continued to move forward.  In 1995 he returned home to Mt. Zion Holy Spiritual Church of God from a brief stint in San Antonio, Texas.  The Pastor continued to grow under the mighty anointing of his father Bishop Abraham Harris, Jr.

In July of 1997 Pastor Harris sat and talked with his mother and father believing that god had spoken to him to move to Pacific Northwest.  After much prayer and council Pastor Harris and family moved to Salem, Oregon in the latter part of 1997.  There he served faithfully as the Associate Pastor for a fresh new ministry, Seed of Faith Ministries under the Leadership of Pastor Wade E. Harris.

After seven years of service and during a tough period in his life, Pastor Harris began to serve a very short stint with Crossroads Ministries under Pastor Rene Houle.  During this time our beloved Pastor, Bishop Abraham Harris, Jr. had become gravely ill.  In February of 2004 the Lord called Bishop Harris home and in his last days he stated to his son Pastor Abe, his desire was that he would assume Leadership of Mt. Zion Holy Spiritual Church of God.

Pastor Abraham Harris, III officially became Pastor in March 2004 and God has set his approval upon this appointment.  Pastor Harris' philosophy is simple, through much heartache, pain and yes even sin God is faithful and just to forgive us of all un-righteousness.  We believe that no matter what your situation may be, the house of the Lord is the place you should be.

In early 2005 Pastor Harris believed that the Lord was calling him higher and he began the Arizona Fellowship of Christian Churches with a leadership council of Pastor D. Previn Carr, Pastor Bryant L. McNeal & Pastor Clifford P. Eason, III.

Later in 2005 Pastor Harris met and became good friends with Dr. E.V. Hill, II of Los Angeles, California.  The two have and continue to sharing pulpits.  Pastor Harris recalls having dinner one evening with Dr. Hill in the North Hollywood area & there he asked his new found brother and mentor many questions.  Pastor Harris left that dinner with new fire.  He will not share the content of the meeting; however, he stated that because of him and the move of God we are going deeper.

In 2006 Pastor Harris cast a vision to go into Mexico to 15 missions & churches.  The body responded & Mt. Zion has two (2) churches in Sonoyta, Mexico.  In 2007 Pastor Harris will open up eight (8) more missions & churches in Cuba as well as Canada.  He joined these missions and churches under "The City of Refuge International Ministries".  Coming soon will be the "House of Refuge For Domestic Violence".

In March of 2007 Pastor Abraham Harris, III reached another milestone when he was ordained as our International Bishop!

Following in his father's footsteps Bishop Harris was selected to function as the President of Hopeville Community for Progress. Bishop Harris serves on the Maricopa County Planning and Development, Maricopa County Board of Adjustments as well as the Faith Builders Community Initiative for the tow of Buckeye.

HE IS A VISIONARY!
